The Church's One Foundation

The Church's One Foundation was commissioned by the First Christian Church Chancel Choir (Richmond, KY) in memory of friend and fellow choir member, Mary Tipton. Mary was a devoted member of the Chancel Choir for forty years. The hymn tune AURELIA has long been one of my favorites; a line in the final stanza – “…and mystic sweet communion with those whose rest is won” – gets me every time. I was honored to be asked to compose an anthem that would serve as a lasting tribute to Mary's love of music, and of the choir.
