COMMISSION

Commissioning a new work is an exciting endeavor for everyone involved. A variety of factors will determine the fee for a commission, including voicing, accompaniment or other instrumentation, difficulty level, duration, and timeline for completion. It is generally best to contact me approximately 12 months before the score is needed for the rehearsal process. This allows sufficient time to discuss the parameters of the commission, select a text, secure copyright permissions (if applicable), and provide ample time for the creative process. Once we have worked out all of the details, a commission contract will be written and signed to ensure that both parties understand and agree to all aspects of the project.

If my schedule allows, I would be delighted to come work with your ensemble as you prepare for the premiere. I simply request that you cover the travel and lodging costs associated with this type of residency.

Please contact me to inquire about a commission.
